Authenticated service interruption via Ruby syntax regex
Published Dec 4, 2024 · Updated Dec 4, 2024
Regular expression denial of service in JetBrains YouTrack before 2024.3.52635 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service. The Ruby syntax detector applies a vulnerable regular expression to crafted Ruby syntax, causing excessive matching work. An authenticated user must supply content processed as Ruby syntax; the documented consequence is reduced availability, not data access or modification.
