Authenticated data modification via incomplete Twig restrictions
Published Dec 9, 2024 · Updated Dec 10, 2024
Sandbox bypass in Winter CMS before 1.0.476, 1.1.0 through 1.1.10, and 1.2.0 through 1.2.6 lets remote authenticated users alter data. The CMS Twig SecurityPolicy omitted restrictions on write and delete methods for live model and datasource objects, allowing template code to invoke them directly. Backend access with cms.manage_layouts, cms.manage_pages, or cms.manage_partials is required; reachable records, theme settings, and templates can be changed or deleted.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=< 1.0.476
