CVE-2024-54147Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Request interception via unconditional certificate acceptance

Published Dec 9, 2024 · Updated Dec 10, 2024

Improper certificate validation in Altair GraphQL Client before 8.0.5 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to intercept HTTPS requests. The Electron certificate-error handler calls event.preventDefault() and callback(true) for every invalid certificate, allowing renderer requests to proceed before displaying a warning. An attacker able to redirect traffic on an untrusted network can read or alter GraphQL headers and bodies, steal authorization tokens, access a signed-in Cloud account, or substitute a payment page.
