CVE-2024-54134Known exploitationNetwork attack vector

Private-key theft via malicious npm package

Published Dec 4, 2024 · Updated Dec 4, 2024

Embedded malicious code in Solana Web3.js 1.95.6 and 1.95.7 allows remote attackers to steal private-key material from applications. Unauthorized npm releases extract private-key material handled directly by the importing application and exfiltrate it to the attacker; the exact code locus is undisclosed. Exposure requires installing an affected release and directly handling private keys; non-custodial wallets and the Solana protocol are unaffected.
