CVE-2024-54133Network attack vector

CSP bypass via unvalidated directive values

Published Dec 10, 2024 · Updated Mar 7, 2025

Cross-site scripting in affected Rails Action Pack releases allows remote attackers to bypass CSP through crafted directive values. The content_security_policy helper resolves dynamic source values and joins them into the CSP header without rejecting whitespace or semicolons that start new directives. Exploitation requires an application to build CSP headers from untrusted input and a user to load affected content; the injected policy can remove browser protections and enable script execution.
