Local privilege escalation in Kolide Launcher 1.5.3 through 1.12.2 allows local users on Windows 10 and 11 to gain SYSTEM access. Launcher creates its ProgramData root with permissive inherited defaults and starts osqueryd without SystemDrive, letting a user-written DLL enter the search path. A local low-privileged user must place the DLL and wait for an osqueryd WMI query; successful loading executes attacker code as SYSTEM.
