CVE-2024-54092Network attack vector

User impersonation via federated API authentication bypass

Published Apr 8, 2025 · Updated Jul 8, 2025

Weak authentication in Siemens Industrial Edge products allows remote attackers to impersonate legitimate users through affected APIs. Specific API endpoints fail to enforce user authentication when identity federation is used; Siemens has not identified the endpoints or code-level cause. Exploitation requires current or prior identity-federation use and knowledge of a legitimate user's identity, granting that user's application and device privileges.
