CVE-2024-54017Network attack vector

Unauthorized information access via predictable session identifiers

Published May 12, 2026 · Updated May 12, 2026

Insufficient session randomness in Siemens SIPROTEC 5 devices allows remote attackers to read limited web-server information. The embedded web server generates session identifiers from an insufficiently random value space, making valid identifiers susceptible to brute-force guessing. No authentication or user interaction is required, but access is limited to information exposed by the subset of endpoints using the affected identifiers.
