CVE-2024-54010

Data exposure via burst-triggered packet forwarding

Published Jan 8, 2025 · Updated Jan 31, 2025

Incorrect authorization in the AOS-CX firewall on CX 10000 switches allows attackers to expose data through adjacent-network traffic. During bursty ICMP or UDP traffic, the firewall forwards packets that security policy requires it to drop, enabling unauthorized cross-policy packet passage. Exploitation requires no authentication or user interaction, but the attacker must be network-adjacent and the switch must route Layer 3 traffic; nonrouting configurations are unaffected.
