Local file disclosure via external entity resolution
Published Dec 10, 2024 · Updated Dec 10, 2024
XXE injection in Siemens COMOS PDMS/E3D Engineering Interface allows local users to read files through an external application's channel. The interface parses attacker-injected external entities in XML exchanged between the systems and resolves them to local or network file paths. Exploitation requires access to the interapplication communication channel and knowledge of a target file path; the documented consequence is file disclosure only.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
