CVE-2024-53982Network attack vector

Arbitrary file read via unrestricted file URLs

Published Dec 4, 2024 · Updated Dec 5, 2024

Path traversal in the ZOO-Project Echo example allows remote attackers to read arbitrary server files through crafted WPS inputs. The WPS request parser URL-decodes referenced-input values and accepts file:// URLs without checking the requested path against an allowlist. The default Echo example exposes this path without authentication, so readable local files can be returned in the HTTP response.
