CVE-2024-53976Public exploitNetwork attack vector

URL spoofing via blank popup address bar

Published Nov 26, 2024 · Updated Nov 26, 2024

URL spoofing in Mozilla Firefox for iOS before 133 allows remote attackers to hide a crafted page origin after a user opens a link. The WKUIDelegate popup path creates a tab for window.open or target=_blank requests but previously kept its address empty when script filled an initially blank window. A user must activate the crafted link; the blank URL obscures the attacker-controlled page origin without establishing code execution.
