CVE-2024-53941

Wi-Fi access via BSSID-derived default PSK

Published Dec 2, 2024 · Updated Dec 3, 2024

Incorrect authorization in Victure RX1800 firmware EN_V1.0.0_r12_110933 lets proximate remote attackers derive the default Wi-Fi PSK. The router generates the default pre-shared key from the BSSID's final four octets after lowercasing them, making the credential deterministically recoverable from a broadcast identifier. An attacker must be within Wi-Fi range and target a device still using its factory-generated key; successful derivation grants access to the protected wireless network.
