CVE-2024-53913Network attack vector

Authenticated remote code execution via unsafe deserialization

Published Nov 24, 2024 · Updated Nov 26, 2024

Deserialization of untrusted data in Veritas Enterprise Vault before 15.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. Several server services accept specially crafted objects on dynamic .NET Remoting TCP endpoints and deserialize the attacker-controlled data. Exploitation requires a valid same-forest domain account with Remote Desktop Users membership, network access from a reachable VM, and knowledge of the target processes, ports, and object URIs.
