Tool interruption via malformed ELF out-of-bounds read
Published Feb 25, 2025 · Updated Feb 25, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in NVIDIA CUDA Toolkit cuobjdump before 12.8 allows local users to interrupt the tool with a malformed ELF file. While parsing the attacker-supplied ELF file, cuobjdump reads beyond a buffer boundary; NVIDIA has not identified the affected parser routine. Exploitation requires a user to invoke cuobjdump on the malformed file and affects availability only, with no reported data disclosure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
