Service interruption via malformed ELF parsing
Published Feb 25, 2025 · Updated Feb 25, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in NVIDIA CUDA Toolkit cuobjdump before 12.8 allows local users to interrupt the tool via a malformed ELF file. cuobjdump parses attacker-supplied ELF data and reads beyond an intended buffer, but NVIDIA has not identified the affected parser routine or missing bounds check. Exploitation requires a user to run cuobjdump on the crafted file; the published impact is limited to partial loss of availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
