Tool interruption via malformed cubin parsing
Published Feb 25, 2025 · Updated Feb 25, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in nvdisasm in NVIDIA CUDA Toolkit before 12.8 allows context-dependent attackers to interrupt the tool via malformed cubin files. When nvdisasm parses a manipulated cubin in ELF format, it reads beyond an intended buffer; the precise parser locus and malformed field are undisclosed. Exploitation requires a user to run nvdisasm on the attacker-supplied file and is bounded to limited tool interruption, with no vendor-reported code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
