Account takeover via exposed password-reset token
Published Feb 2, 2026 · Updated Feb 2, 2026
Account takeover in Lunary before 1.2.14 allows remote authenticated users with Viewer access to reset another user's password. An authenticated request returns the target account's password-reset token in the recoveryToken response field without enforcing authorization for that secret. Viewer-level access is required; the exposed token permits replacement of the victim's password and assumption of that account, without reported service interruption.
