Session script execution via paste sanitizer bypass
Published Dec 9, 2024 · Updated Dec 10, 2024
Cross-site scripting in 37signals Trix 1.0.0 through 1.3.2 and 2.0.0 through 2.1.8 allows remote attackers to run JavaScript via pasted HTML. HTMLSanitizer leaves crafted MathML and embed mutation payloads executable after browser parsing instead of sanitizing the normalized DOM. Exploitation requires a user to paste attacker-controlled content into an editor, enabling unauthorized actions or data access within that user's session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
