Service interruption via IRQ-disabled cross-core TLB flush
Published Jan 11, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
Improper interrupt handling in RISC-V KFENCE in affected Linux 5.14 and later kernels allows local users to interrupt service. arch/riscv/include/asm/kfence.h calls flush_tlb_kernel_range() from kfence_protect_page() while interrupts are disabled, allowing the flush to issue cross-core IPIs and raise a kernel warning. Reachability requires a RISC-V kernel with KFENCE active and a local low-privileged execution path that causes KFENCE to protect or unprotect a page; no confidentiality or integrity impact is reported.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
