CVE-2024-53564Network attack vector

Administrator file placement via unsanitized upload filename

Published Dec 2, 2024 · Updated Jan 14, 2025

Unrestricted file upload in FreePBX 17.0.19.17 allows remote authenticated users with high privileges to place unwanted files. The module upload handler builds the web-accessible _cache destination by appending the client-supplied filename, then moves the file before archive-type validation. Administrative GUI access is required, and the supplier disputes any added security impact because such administrators can already install executable modules.
