Administrator account takeover via unchecked password change
Published Dec 7, 2024 · Updated Jan 3, 2025
Missing authorization in WeGIA 3.2.0 allows remote attackers to replace an administrator password through a crafted POST request. The alterarSenha method trusted the id_pessoa and nova_senha request fields, hashed the supplied password, and updated the selected account without checking a session or authorization. No session cookie or old password was required, so access to the web endpoint was sufficient for administrator account takeover.
