CVE-2024-53407Public exploit

Local code execution via DYLD_INSERT_LIBRARIES injection

Published Jan 15, 2025 · Updated Jan 31, 2025

Local code execution in Phiewer 4.1.0 allows local users to run commands through an injected dynamic library on macOS. The published proof of concept sets DYLD_INSERT_LIBRARIES to an attacker-controlled dylib when launching the Phiewer executable, causing the dynamic loader to load that code. Control of Phiewer’s launch environment is required; injected code runs with the Phiewer process’s user privileges.
