Cross-site scripting via clobbered currentScript lookup
Published Mar 3, 2025 · Updated Mar 3, 2025
DOM clobbering in Piqnt Stage.js 0.8.10 and earlier allows context-dependent attackers to execute JavaScript through injected HTML. The getScriptSrc function trusts document.currentScript.src, so a named HTML element can shadow currentScript and redirect relative preload URLs. Exploitation requires attacker-controlled HTML on a page that uses Stage.preload with a relative JavaScript path; the loaded script runs in that page's origin.
