Administrative access via hard-coded JWT signing secret
Published Jan 31, 2025 · Updated Feb 7, 2025
Hard-coded JWT credentials in EasyVirt DCScope 8.6.0 and earlier and CO2Scope 1.3.0 and earlier allow remote attackers to gain admin access. The applications validate HS256 JWTs with the embedded string somerandomaccesstoken, allowing attackers to select root and admin claims. No authentication or user interaction is required; using a forged token as the application cookie enables impersonation and sensitive-data manipulation.
