Privilege escalation via unchecked user-management API access
Published Jan 31, 2025 · Updated Feb 7, 2025
Improper access control in EasyVirt DCScope 8.6.0 and earlier and CO2Scope 1.3.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to gain admin access. The user-management routes accept low-privilege requests to create, read, update, or delete aliases, groups, and roles without enforcing the required permissions. Any low-privileged account can assign itself to the root group, change permissions, manage other accounts, and read user identifiers and membership data.
