CVE-2024-53299Network attack vector

Service interruption via repeated resource requests

Published Jan 23, 2025 · Updated Feb 4, 2025

Denial of service in affected Apache Wicket releases allows remote authenticated users to exhaust server memory via repeated resource requests. Apache has disclosed only that core request handling retains memory across multiple requests to server resources; no specific class, method, or allocation path is public. The affected ranges are 7.0.0 through 7.18., 8.0.0-M1 through 8.16., 9.0.0-M1 through 9.18., and 10.0.0-M1 through 10.2.; exploitation requires low privileges and can interrupt the hosted application.

Exploitability

Present is not the same as exploitable

Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
