Stored script execution via unescaped admin customizations
Published Nov 26, 2024 · Updated Nov 26, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in WP Admin UI Customize before 1.5.14 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in other users' browsers. The plugin stores administrator-supplied admin-screen customization values and later renders affected values without escaping, allowing embedded JavaScript to run. Administrator privileges are required to plant the content, and execution requires another user to access the customized administration screen.
