Image disclosure via unrestricted cross-origin requests
Published Dec 23, 2024 · Updated Feb 18, 2025
Permissive CORS in Xemle HomeGallery 1.15.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to read preview images via cross-origin requests. The createApp function in packages/server/src/app.js installs Express cors() middleware without restricting allowed origins, so any website can read server endpoints. Disclosure requires knowledge of a randomized preview-image path under the default configuration; JavaScript-dependent pages are not directly exposed.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
