Account compromise via unchecked redirectTo URI
Published Dec 11, 2024 · Updated Dec 12, 2024
Reflected XSS in HabitRPG Habitica before 5.28.5 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through a crafted redirectTo link. The home.vue register function assigns the redirectTo query value directly to window.location.href without validating its URI scheme. Execution requires a victim to follow the link and register, after which the script runs in that victim's session and can read the stored user ID and API key.
