CVE-2024-53256

Local command execution via unescaped binary class

Published Dec 23, 2024 · Updated Dec 24, 2024

OS command injection in Rizin before 0.7.4 allows local users to execute commands by opening a crafted binary with filesystem metadata. The startup path in librz/main/rizin.c passes the untrusted RzBinInfo bclass value to rz_core_cmdf as part of the legacy m command when rclass equals fs. Exploitation requires a bin format whose bclass and rclass fields are user-controlled, and commands run with the invoking user's privileges.
