Authenticated alert-response disclosure via KV Store endpoints
Published Dec 10, 2024 · Updated Feb 28, 2025
Improper access control in Splunk Secure Gateway on affected Splunk deployments allows remote authenticated users to read alert search responses. The app's KV Store collection endpoints return mobile alert search-query response data to low-privileged accounts without enforcing the admin or power role restriction. Any authenticated low-privileged account lacking those roles can retrieve the responses; no write, integrity, or availability impact is reported.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=9.1 <9.1.7
- Affected versionversion=9.2 <9.2.4
