Local service interruption via io_pin_pages overflow
Published Dec 27, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026
Integer overflow in Linux kernel io_uring allows local users to interrupt service through a crafted io_uring_setup request. io_pin_pages adds a user-controlled uaddr value to the requested mapping size without first checking whether the address calculation wraps. Low-privilege local access and io_uring availability are required; the observed failure reaches a kernel warning in the page-pinning path.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
