CVE-2024-53134

Kernel panic via nonterminating remove-path loop

Published Dec 4, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026

Denial of service in the Linux kernel's i.MX93 block-control driver allows local users to trigger a kernel panic during device removal. The imx93_blk_ctrl_remove() loop tests the nonzero domain count as a constant condition instead of comparing its index, so teardown never terminates. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and the i.MX93 media block controller; the resulting infinite loop interrupts the host.
