CVE-2024-53087

Local denial of service via exec queue leak

Published Nov 19, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026

Resource leak in Linux 6.8 through 6.11.7 allows local users to exhaust kernel memory through malformed drm/xe exec IOCTL requests. After xe_exec_queue_lookup obtains an exec-queue reference, input-validation error paths return without calling xe_exec_queue_put. Repeated requests require local access to an Intel Xe DRM device and can interrupt system availability through memory exhaustion.
