CVE-2024-53081

Availability loss via AR0521 PLL comparison underflow

Published Nov 19, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026

Integer underflow in the Linux kernel AR0521 camera driver 6.0 through 6.12-rc6 allows local users to interrupt system availability. The calc_pll function multiplies 32-bit PLL bounds by new_pre and compares those results with a 64-bit external-clock product, allowing the bound calculation to wrap. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and an active AR0521 sensor path; no confidentiality or integrity impact is reported.
