System crash via unchecked error pointer
Published Nov 19, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026
Error-pointer mishandling in the Linux kernel drm/tegra probe in 6.11 through 6.11.6 allows local users to crash the system. In host1x_drm_probe(), a NULL-only check accepts the error pointer returned by iommu_paging_domain_alloc() as a valid domain. Reachability requires local access to a system using the NVIDIA Tegra host1x display stack with IOMMU mapping, and the bounded consequence is loss of availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
