Local denial of service via allocation error leak
Published Nov 19, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Memory leak in Linux kernel 6.4 allows local users to exhaust memory and interrupt service through a faulty allocation error path. In iio_gts_build_avail_scale_table(), the err_free_out loop stops before index zero and leaves per_time_scales[0] and per_time_gains[0] allocated. Reachability requires local low-privileged access and execution of the IIO gain-time-scale table builder while a per-time allocation fails.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
