Code execution via crafted-file buffer underwrite
Published Dec 10, 2024 · Updated Dec 17, 2024
Buffer underwrite in Adobe Animate 23.0.8 and 24.0.5 and earlier allows attackers to execute code through a crafted file. Adobe has not disclosed the affected file parser or the malformed field that causes a write before the start of an allocated buffer. Exploitation requires a user to open the malicious file, and resulting code runs with the current user's privileges.
