CVE-2024-5295

Root code execution via flupl self command injection

Published May 23, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

OS command injection in D-Link G416 firmware 1.08b02 and earlier allows remote attackers on the local network to execute code as root. The flupl self handler in the TCP port 80 HTTP service passes an insufficiently validated user-supplied string to a system call. No authentication is required, but access must be network-adjacent; successful exploitation grants root-level control of the router.
