Target-user request execution via HTMLView XSS
Published Nov 18, 2024 · Updated Nov 18, 2024
Reflected XSS in Veritas Enterprise Vault before 15.1 UPD882911 allows remote authenticated users to run arbitrary script in another user's session. The HTMLView endpoint reflects an attacker-controlled HTTP parameter into archived-content output without validating or neutralizing it. Exploitation requires an authenticated target to execute the reflected content, after which the script can issue application requests with that target's privileges.
