Authenticated script execution via unsanitized MobileHTMLView parameter
Published Nov 18, 2024 · Updated Nov 18, 2024
Reflected XSS in Veritas Enterprise Vault 15.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script in an archive viewer's session. The MobileHTMLView endpoint reflects an injected HTTP parameter into archived-content output without validating or sanitizing the user-supplied value. Exploitation requires an authenticated requester and a target who visits a malicious page or opens a malicious file; injected script can issue web requests with that target's application privileges.
