Sensitive information disclosure via detailed error messages

Published Dec 19, 2024 · Updated Jan 10, 2025

Information disclosure in the IBM MQ 9.2, 9.3, and 9.4 web console allows remote attackers to read sensitive data from error responses. The REST API and Console component returns detailed technical error messages containing sensitive information; IBM has not disclosed the triggering request or affected handler. The mqweb component must be installed and configured; IBM rates access as local despite describing a remote attacker, and reports confidentiality impact only.
