Stored XSS via forged settings update
Published Jul 13, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stored XSS in Tips and Tricks HQ WP Affiliate Platform before 6.5.1 allows remote attackers to inject script via forged settings requests. The wp_aff_platform_settings handler accepts wp_aff_tax_form_prompt_msg in an advanced-settings POST without a valid CSRF nonce, sanitization, or output escaping. Exploitation requires an administrator with an authenticated WordPress session to open attacker-controlled HTML, after which the stored script executes in later plugin page views.
