Configuration override via newline injection
Published Dec 17, 2024 · Updated Dec 18, 2024
Configuration injection in LDAP Account Manager 8.9 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to write arbitrary configuration values. The mainmanage.php and confmain.php handlers preserve embedded newlines when serializing fields line by line into config.cfg or serverprofile.conf. An attacker with the master configuration password can redirect logging into a web-accessible PHP file when permissions permit, or inject invalid settings that block login.
