CVE-2024-5277Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Account takeover via reusable password-reset token

Published Jun 6, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Weak password recovery in Lunary 1.2.4 allows remote attackers holding a compromised reset token to take over a victim account. The backend password-reset process accepts a token after its first successful use because it neither discards nor invalidates the token. Possession of a victim's recovery token is required; repeated reuse lets the attacker replace the password again and maintain unauthorized account access.
