Service crash via oversized notify parameter
Published Nov 20, 2024 · Updated Nov 22, 2024
Buffer overflow in D-Link DI-8003 firmware 16.07.16A1 allows remote authenticated users to crash jhttpd via a crafted notify parameter. The arp_sys_asp HTTP handler processes the notify value without enforcing its length, overflowing a stack buffer in the jhttpd executable. NVD assesses network reachability with high privileges, while CISA assesses adjacent-network reachability with low privileges; the reported consequence is denial of service.
