Stored script execution via administrator-controlled page banner
Published Nov 20, 2024 · Updated Nov 20, 2024
Stored XSS in Piwigo 14.5.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through the Page banner setting. The Configuration page stores administrator-supplied banner markup and renders it on gallery pages without neutralizing script-capable HTML. Administrator access is required, and Piwigo documentation explicitly permits HTML in this field, so the upstream issue is closed as a misunderstanding and the vulnerability claim is disputed.
