Session and token theft via unsanitized SVG icons
Published Nov 20, 2024 · Updated Nov 20, 2024
Stored XSS in Bubka 2FAuth before 5.4.1 allows remote attackers to access a victim's session and tokens through an uploaded SVG. IconStoreService stores SVG icon content without sanitizing executable markup, and direct storage URLs render the file as active SVG content. Exploitation requires a crafted icon upload and a victim to open its generated URL; the script then runs in the victim's browser context.
