CVE-2024-52593Network attack vector

Phishing redirects via unvalidated origin links

Published Dec 18, 2024 · Updated Dec 18, 2024

Improper input validation in Misskey Project Misskey 12.29.0 through 2024.11.0-alpha.2 allows remote attackers to plant deceptive origin links. NoteCreateService.insertNote, ApPersonService.createPerson, and ApPersonService.updatePerson accept any HTTPS URL as an origin link without checking that its domain matches the note or user. The attack succeeds when a remote user follows a displayed origin link, which redirects the user to an attacker-controlled phishing site.
